5. description of vibrators
5.2 Vibrator design
The vibrator housings of our vibrators are made of die-cast aluminum alloy. There are two basic types, the piston and linear vibrators (linear vibrators) and the ball, roller and turbine vibrators (circular vibrators).
Linear vibrators: FP piston vibrators are available in four different piston diameters (12, 18, 25 and 35 mm), each with three different force levels (small, medium and large), and as FPLF piston vibrators in the medium force level for oil-free operation.
The FAL linear vibrators with free-floating pistons are also available in four piston sizes (8, 18, 25 and 35 mm).
Circular vibrators: These series of vibrators are available in five different profile sizes: P-50, P-65, P-80, P-100 and P-120 where the number indicates the outer housing dimensions in millimeters. Only the Golden Turbine types GT-4 and GT-6 (Black Beauties) are made of P-40 profiles. As with the FP-series, some vibrator sizes are available in two or three force levels. For example, the Golden Turbine types which are made of P-80 profile size: Type GT-30 with one eccentric brass weight, Type GT-36 with two eccentric brass weights or Type GT-36-S with two eccentric weights made of high density metal for the strongest weight - force ratio.
5.3 The Ball Vibrators K- Series
This is the basic version of vibrators. A steel ball accelerated by compressed air rotates over a hardened special raceway, generating unbalance and vibration in sinusoidal energy waves.
The rotational frequency of the spherical vibrators varies from 7,000 to 35,000 min-1, and the centrifugal force from 130 to 4,000 N, depending on the model and air pressure.
5.3.1 Description
The housing of these vibrators is made of die-cast aluminum alloy into which a hardened steel raceway is inserted. The steel ball used is particularly resistant. Plastic sealing plates prevent the penetration of dirt and water and secure the ball. The air inlet and outlet holes have pipe threads, in the case of the air outlet, this allows the escaping air to be soundproofed or diverted. The pipe thread is BSP (British Standard Pipe) standard, but also allow the use of G- and R- threads, as well as US NPT (National Pipe Thread) threads.
Four mounting holes allow vertical as well as horizontal mounting of the vibrators. The number in the K-series type designation indicates the diameter of the ball in millimeters. Ambient temperature should not exceed 220°F (100°C). The noise level is between 75 and 95 dBA when a silencer is used.
5.3.2 Uses
Vibrators in the form of our ball vibrators (K-series) can be used in a wide variety of applications such as the following:
- Material flow support for bunkers, chutes and slides.
- Best performance in packaging technology
- Prevention of blockages in conveyor systems of bottles, cans and similar objects at critical points.
- Compaction of material in bins or molds
- Separation of material with different sizes on screens
5.3.3. installation and operation
Please also refer to chapter 6 for general information.
Ball vibrators of the K- series can be mounted in any position. The centrifugal force created by the air pressure applied to the system immediately brings the ball to the correct position on the raceway. This means that even if the vibrator is mounted vertically to its axis of rotation, the ball will only rest on the side closure plates when at rest.
Ball vibrators can be switched on periodically without losing effectiveness without causing other problems in case of sudden stop of the vibrator. Ball vibrators have the characteristic of stopping quickly after closing the compressed air supply. This makes the K-series very practical to use in packaging applications.
Lubrication is not required. Filtered air is recommended, otherwise dust particles will cause the ball to jump and slowly damage the raceway.

5.4 The roller vibrators R- series
The basic principle of the roller vibrator is similar to that of the ball vibrator. A steel roller rotates over a cast metal track, generating large centrifugal forces.
The rotational frequency of the R- Series roller vibrators varies from 10,000 to 36,000 min-1, and the centrifugal force from 1,070 to 12,500 N, depending on the model and air pressure.
5.4.1 Description
The housing is made of die-cast aluminum alloy into which a special raceway is inserted. The precision steel roller used is protected laterally by two plastic closure plates.
The R- vibrators have two air inlet holes, one on the side and one on the housing, the unused hole being sealed by means of a plug supplied. The holes have BSP (British Standard Pipe) standard pipe threads, but also allow the use of G- and R- threads, as well as US NPT (National Pipe Thread) threads. The incoming air accelerates the steel roller through several nozzles distributed in the raceway. This ensures quiet, smooth and economical operation. The air is discharged through sound-absorbing side plates attached to the closure plates.
Four mounting holes allow vertical as well as horizontal mounting. The number in the type designation of the R-series indicates the outer dimensions of the housing without feet in millimeters. Ambient temperature should not exceed 140°C (280°F). The noise level is between 75 and 100 dBA.
5.4.2 Uses
The roller vibrators (R- Series) are used in the following applications, for example:
- Support of material flow in bunkers, chutes and slides, or their discharge of very fine materials such as powders and moist or sticky materials
- Movement of small parts
- Compaction of plastic castings and concrete
5.4.3. installation and operation
Please also refer to chapter 6 regarding general information.
R- series roller vibrators can be mounted in any position, but we recommend the one mounting position with a horizontal axis of rotation, so that the roller does not drag over one of the sealing plates and wear it out relatively quickly.
The roller vibrators can be switched on periodically without losing effectiveness without causing other problems in case of sudden stop of the vibrator. Roller vibrators have the property of stopping quickly after closing the compressed air supply and are therefore ideal for use in concrete compaction where precise compaction times can be calculated.
A hydraulic oil according to ISO VG5 with 5 cSt/40°C is required for lubrication (see also chapter 2.2.). One drop per five minutes is sufficient. Filtered air is also required (filter < 40 mm), otherwise dust particles will cause the roller to jump and damage the raceway.

5.5 The roller vibrators DAR- series
The DAR- series completes the range of roller vibrators and is specially designed for concrete compaction and applications with high ambient temperatures. The new features provide an even more robust vibrator, especially suitable for very tough applications.
The rotation frequency of the DAR-series roller vibrators varies from 8,000 to 38,000 min-1, the centrifugal force from 1,700 to 12,000 N, depending on model and air pressure. The vibration amplitude is very large compared to other series.
5.5.1 Description
The housing is made of die-cast aluminum alloy into which an expandable special raceway is inserted. The precision steel roller used is protected laterally by two bronze closure plates. The air inlet and outlet holes have pipe threads so that the escaping air can be soundproofed or dissipated. The pipe thread is BSP (British Standard Pipe) standard, but also allow the use of G- and R- threads, as well as US NPT (National Pipe Thread) threads. For optimum fitment, the vibrators should be fitted with sintered bronze silencers.
Two mounting holes are provided for attachment. The number in the type designation of the DAR series is a consecutive number. Ambient temperature should not exceed 200°C (400°F). The noise level with silencer is between 75 and 100 dBA.
5.5.2 Uses
The roller vibrators (DAR- Series) are ideal for compacting and conveying fine and heavy materials such as:
- Compaction of concrete and plastic casting
- Support of material flow on chutes and slides
- Separation of different products on screens
5.5.3. installation and operation
Please also refer to chapter 6 for general information.
DAR-series roller vibrators should be installed in a mounting position with the axis of rotation horizontal to avoid friction and associated wear on the bronze sealing plates.
The roller vibrators can be switched on periodically without losing efficiency and without other problems caused by sudden stops of the vibrator. Roller vibrators have the characteristic of stopping quickly after closing the compressed air supply and are therefore ideal for use in concrete compaction where accurate compaction times can be calculated.

5.6 The Golden Turbine Vibrators GT- Series
A wide speed range and broad spectrum of working torque are combined in this series of vibrators to produce powerful vibration.
The rotation frequency of Golden Turbine vibrators varies from 5,600 to 46,000 min-1, and the centrifugal force from 1,000 to 12,000 N, depending on the model and air pressure.
5.6.1 Description
The housing is made of die-cast aluminum alloy. The screwed-in side plates are coated to ensure use in the food and pharmaceutical industries. The GT- vibrators comply with the international noise regulations at factory conditions.
The vibrations are generated by the centrifugal force of the positive and negative unbalances in the turbine impeller. The impeller runs in two extremely robust, pre-lubricated, sealed ball bearings. A special long-life grease ensures long trouble-free operation. The inner and outer running surfaces of the bearings are designed for easy replacement.
The air inlet and outlet holes have pipe threads so that the escaping air can be soundproofed or dissipated. The pipe thread is BSP (British Standard Pipe) standard, but also allow the use of G- and R- threads, as well as US NPT (National Pipe Thread) threads.
The shut-off valves are used with right and left hand threads and are self-locking.
Ambient temperature should not exceed 120°C (250°F). Noise level is between 60 and 75 dBA with silencer.
5.6.2 Uses
Golden Turbine vibrators (GT- Series) are used in a very wide range of applications such as:
- Conveying
- Compacting
- Separation
5.6.3. installation and operation
Please also refer to chapter 6 regarding general information.
Golden Turbine vibrators can be mounted in any position, but if possible a mounting position with a horizontal axis of rotation should be selected to avoid increased wear of the bearings due to axial forces.
The roller vibrators can be switched on periodically. It must be noted, however, that the run-on time of a turbine vibrator is approx. 10 s. Therefore, interval switching only makes sense if the idle time is longer than 10-20 s.
Lubrication is not required. Filtered air is recommended to protect the silencer from contamination.

5.7 Turbine Vibrators T- Series
A narrow speed band and large working torque are combined in this series of vibrators to produce powerful vibration with large vibration amplitude.
The rotation frequency of Golden Turbine vibrators varies from 6,500 to 23,000 min-1, and the centrifugal force from 600 to 6,000 N, depending on the model and air pressure.
5.7.1 Description
The housing of Golden Turbine vibrators is made of hardened and coated die-cast aluminum alloy. It is chemically resistant to ensure use in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
The LP (Low Pressure) types work most efficiently between 2 and 4 bar (30 to 60 PSI), while the HP (High Pressure) types show the best results between 4 and 6 bar (60 to 90 PSI). In this range, the vibration frequency can be adjusted to the required units by the compressed air control.
The air inlet and outlet holes have pipe threads to allow the exiting air to be silenced or dissipated. The pipe thread is BSP (British Standard Pipe) standard, but also allow the use of G- and R- threads, as well as US NPT (National Pipe Thread) threads.
Two mounting holes are provided for attachment. Ambient temperature should not exceed 140°C (280°F). Noise level is between 65 and 80 dBA with silencer.
5.7.2 Uses
The turbine vibrators (T- Series) are used in a very wide range of applications such as:
- Conveying
- Compacting
- Separation
5.7.3. installation and operation
Please also refer to chapter 6 regarding general information.
Turbine vibrators of the T- series can be mounted in any position, but if possible a mounting position with a horizontal axis of rotation should be chosen to avoid increased wear of the bearings due to axial forces.
The roller vibrators can be switched on periodically. It must be noted, however, that the run-on time of a turbine vibrator is approx. 10 s. Therefore, interval switching only makes sense if the idle time is longer than 10-20 s.
For lubrication a hydraulic oil according to ISO VG5 with 5 cSt/40°C is required (see also chapter 2.2.). Filtered air is also required (filter < 40 mm), otherwise dust particles can damage the bearings.

5.8 The piston vibrators FP-series
The FP-series piston vibrators generate a linear vibration with a wide range of vibration frequency and amplitude, controllable by air pressure.
The vibration frequency varies from 2.400 to 9.300 vibrations min-1, the centrifugal force from 34 to 1.060 N, depending on the model and air pressure.
The FP vibrators are not knockers, i.e. the piston does not hit the floor but is decelerated by an air cushion building up either on the floor or on the head side and accelerated in the opposite direction. The centrifugal force/time curve is therefore almost sinusoidal with no peaks due to impacts. This feature is ideal for conveying material.
5.8.1 Description
The housing is made of hardened and coated die-cast aluminum alloy. It is chemically resistant to ensure use in the food and pharmaceutical industries. The weight-force ratio of the units makes it particularly efficient for use in conveying applications. Explosion protection, light weight, compact design and quiet operation are the main features of these vibrators. The FP- piston vibrators are easy to install and designed for a long lifetime. Maintenance requirements are minimal.
The bottom of the housing has metric threads, making it easy to mount the vibrator.
The air inlet and outlet holes (housing side and head) have pipe threads so that the exiting air can be silenced or dissipated. The pipe thread is BSP (British Standard Pipe) standard, but also allow the use of G- and R- threads, as well as US NPT (National Pipe Thread) threads.
Ambient temperature should not exceed 50°C (120°F). Piston vibrators can also operate at higher temperatures, but the vibration force will decrease due to increasing gap losses. The noise level is a very low 57 to 74 dBA.
5.8.2 Applications
Piston vibrators (FP-series) are used especially for conveying on troughs, spiral conveyors and pipes, such as:
- Conveying chemical powder in conveyor pipes
- Conveying flour, sugar, etc. in the food industry
- Conveying of small parts
- Conveying of seeds and grains in agriculture
5.8.3. installation and operation
Please also refer to chapter 6 for general information.
Piston vibrators of the FP- series can be mounted in any position.
Except for the lubrication-free types FPLF-, lubrication with hydraulic oil according to ISO VG5 with 5 cSt/40°C or distilled water is required (see also chapter 2.2.). Filtered air is also required (filter < 5 mm) to protect the piston from blocking.
Interval switching is possible with piston vibrators without any problems. When mounted vertically in the upright position, the piston needs approx. two seconds to remove the remaining air from the chamber and reach its starting position with the aid of the inserted spring after the compressed air has been switched off. In this case, the starter spring should be mounted in the upper chamber for periodic use with short rest chamfers so that the piston mass supports the spring force.

5.8.5 Silencer / air regulator
Free Flow Silencer FF- Type
The air outlet of rotating vibrators is uniform, standard silencers can be used. The design principle allows the air to escape in waves.
The air discharge in piston vibrators occurs in pulse-like bursts. The principle of the FF silencer meets these special requirements and can control the piston vibrator by reducing the amount of air discharged.
The FF silencer uses the diffusion principle with the help of a flow labyrinth and thus prevents clogging. The integrated airflow limiter allows the vibrator to be adjusted to a desired amplitude.
When the airflow limiter is correctly adjusted, the sound level can be reduced by up to 50%.
The FF silencer is made of black acetate resin.
It can be mounted directly on the vibrator or mounted elsewhere as a "remote control" and fits FP(LF)-25 and FP(LF)-35 types. Only standard silencers are available for the smaller piston vibrators.
